Being paramedics, we should be knowledge, compassionate, and tolerant. Because that if we lose anyone of those three characteristics, we can not take care of patients well. Sometimes, cleaning the excrement of patients without hurting them is a hard work for people losing the three points. Therefore, how to be more learned, compassionate, and tolerance is the lesson we have to learn in the university.

By studying hard, we would get much of related knowledge in the four years. Those include some foundational courses such as physics, general biology and some more professional courses like orthopedic physical therapy, internal medicine, and cardiopulmonary physical therapy. If we get master of those subjects, for example, we will have the ability to analyze the suddenly event which a weak pass off in our side and know how to handle it. So, it is one of the most important points for our work.

By taking more communication with many kinds of patients, we would get more compassionate. The characteristic of compassion can make us get better on thinking about patient’s inconveniences and be able to do something for them. For example, many children are scared to make an injection. If we can encourage them at the right moment, they will be braver to take the injection than before. Thus, having the characteristic of compassion is necessary for a good paramedic.

By understanding their physiology or psychology pain of patient, we can be more tolerant to care for them. However, if we are not being tolerant for our work, it would make ourselves unhappy and effect taking care of patients. For instance, we may lose our smile to face people after we spend much time looking after the same patient who has have no ability to walk or to clean himself, and it will show that we are not responsible for our patients. Therefore, having tolerance is an important thing to be a good paramedic.

If we have those characteristics, it will be successful to do the job. We can do our best to care for patient and help them free from pain. To conclude, being knowledgeable, compassionate, and tolerant will enable to make us be very successful paramedics.

Today, I bought a box of music from a book store. This is a Box include 3CDs, which are a collection of many Taiwan popular songs in the year of 2000. And the important thing is that it is not a pirated edition!! Although there are eight years from today of 2008, the songs which were sang by these old but “strength” singers like LIN,YI-LIAN, REN,SIAN-CI, and JHAO,CHUAN still attract me. So, I think I’m so lucky to buy the box with only $99!!
